IDTechEx attended Aluminium 2018 at the Düsseldorf Messe, Germany. This event reaches nearly 30,000 attendees and covers the complete aluminium supply chain.

Quantum dots (QDs) are often billed as the ultimate, or at least as the next generation of, phosphors. The main driver often is the QDs' ability to act as ultra-narrowband downconverters, resulting in extremely wide color gamut displays and efficient and high CRI solid state LED lights.

Many consider drones as flying sensors. Indeed, nearly all applications of drones reply on some type of sensors, be it a simple camera to a complex hyperspectral or LIDAR sensor. In addition, drones are becoming more navigational autonomous.

It took a decade and half to enable the first commercial products using flexible barrier or thin film encapsulation technologies. Contrary to some assumptions however, this success does not mean that the question of barrier technology is forever settled. Indeed, there is still much work to do to render flexible barrier technology a ubiquitous, widely-available, and low-cost component in devices of all sizes, sensitivity levels, flexibility degrees, and so on.
